Fri 2 Jul 2010

Friday July 2nd saw this year’s annual BPAA Boules Competition, sponsored by Beach Baker Property Recruitment for the third year in a row. This year’s chosen charity was ‘The Jessie May Trust’.

Once again the event was held in the delightful grounds of The Orangery in Clifton. With 35 teams taking part this year, it was sure to be a great afternoon and good to see an increase in the number of teams entered as well as a lot of new faces.

The cup prize was returned by DTZ/EC Harris and CMS returned the plate prize ready for the 2010 competition to begin. The first round of the cup prize saw AWW Architects, Mead King, King Sturge, Rapleys, TLT Solicitors, Metcalfes, Beach Baker and Colliers International all go through to the quarter finals. AWW and Rapleys went head to head in the first of the semi finals with Beach Baker and TLT battling it out nearby for their place in the finals. Some tense games and competitive play resulted in a final play off between Rapleys and TLT with Rapleys scooping the Cup Prize.

The first round of the ‘Plate Prize’ for the runners up saw Burston Cook, Alder King, CBRE, Tuffin Ferraby Taylor, Subway, HTC, FMW Consultancy and Pegasus Planning all go through to the quarter final play offs. Burston Cook and CBRE were up against each other for the first place in the finals with CBRE going through and Subway managed to beat Pegasus Planning in their semi-final heat to take on CBRE in the final. CBRE battled through and took the ‘2010 Plate Prize’ this year.

An enjoyable afternoon was had by all, with the chance to play against a variety of firms and a BBQ and drinks evening to follow it was another great chance to network and meet fellow property professionals in and around Bristol. The Boules competition is always a great success and a great event to attend. Guy Mansfield of CBRE and Sarah Ogden of DTZ did another great job of organising the event with the support of the team at Beach Baker.
