As a specialist recruiter partnering with a respected property consultancy, we are seeking an experienced Planning Consultant at Associate or Partner level to step into a strategic leadership role within an established Planning team. The Opportunity

You will join a dynamic team that includes planners, surveyors and architects, working across a wide range of residential, commercial and leisure development projects. With a strong focus on strategic planning and land promotion, this role offers the chance to influence team direction, support business growth, and contribute to a well‑respected planning function known for its professionalism and high standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of planning consultants.
  • Oversee and support complex planning applications.
  • Coordinate and respond to development plan consultations.
  • Provide clear, commercially driven planning advice to clients and colleagues.
  • Identify and secure new business opportunities, building strong and lasting client relationships.
  • Foster a positive, motivated and high‑performing team environment.

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a highly capable and motivated planning professional who can demonstrate:

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in development management, EIA and development plans.
  • Commercial awareness, including the ability to identify and secure new opportunities.
  • Confidence in networking and building trusted, long‑term client relationships.
