Senior Chartered Development Surveyor
Salary: £38,119.27 - £56,563.96, depending on experience

South West Norse currently seeking a Senior Chartered Development Surveyor to join their team ideally on a full-time, permanent basis. Part -time may be considered for the right candidate. This role involves adding value to client assets by identifying and securing planning consents for development.
Key Responsibilities:
As a Senior Chartered Development Surveyor, your main duties will include:
- Identifying, promoting, and delivering the development potential of surplus and potentially surplus assets, adding significant value before sale to generate essential capital receipts.
- Taking a hands-on approach to leading public consultation exercises, drafting planning applications, design and access statements, feasibility reports, and viability appraisals.
- Representing clients at planning committee meetings and appeals, and negotiating and agreeing S.106 Agreements.
- Being actively involved in all aspects of the development process, not just project management and coordination.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a similar role, supported by:
- At least 5 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) as a Development Surveyor.
- Professional Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) and a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a Real Estates discipline.
- Experience in planning and development surveying, with a strong background in producing viability appraisals.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant planning legislation and familiarity with the Local Plans for the region.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage and negotiate with all levels of internal and external parties.
- The ability to work independently with minimal support, as well as collaboratively within a large multi-disciplinary team.
- A full UK Driving Licence to meet the travel requirements of the role.
