Rural Surveyor / Land Agent

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Rural Surveyor / Land Agent to join a growing Infrastructure & Renewables team based in Northumberland.
This position offers exposure to a diverse portfolio of rural, infrastructure and renewable energy projects across Northern England, working with a range of private landowners, estates, utility providers and infrastructure organisations. The role would suit a surveyor looking to broaden their experience, build client relationships and play an active role in delivering projects from inception through to completion.
This is a varied position offering genuine responsibility, direct client contact and strong opportunities for professional development and career progression.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Providing professional land and property advice to a broad client base.
- Supporting the delivery of infrastructure, utilities and renewable energy projects.
- Negotiating with landowners, occupiers and stakeholders.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Undertaking estate and property management instructions.
- Assisting clients with asset management and long-term land strategies.
- Managing multiple projects and ensuring delivery against agreed timescales and budgets.
- Maintaining comprehensive project records and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
- Supporting junior colleagues and contributing to team development.
- Identifying and developing new business opportunities across the region.
This role offers the opportunity to work across a wide range of projects, combining traditional rural practice work with major infrastructure and renewable energy schemes.
About You
Applications are welcomed from candidates who can demonstrate:
- Experience within rural surveying, estate management, land agency, infrastructure or utilities.
- MRICS or AssocRICS qualification, or a willingness to work towards professional accreditation.
- Knowledge of rural tenancy matters, including Farm Business Tenancies, Agricultural Holdings Act tenancies and licences.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills.
- A commercial and client-focused approach.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and GIS platforms.
- A full UK driving licence.
