About the Role:
We're currently working with a leading regional firm of rural chartered surveyors based in Devon and Cornwall, who are looking to expand their team with a dynamic Rural Chartered Surveyor. This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-established team in the Exeter office, servicing an extensive client base in Devon and Cornwall. You'll be working alongside experienced chartered surveyors, auctioneers, and farm agents to deliver top-tier services to clients.
What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will be an ambitious, proactive Rural Chartered Surveyor with excellent time management and organisational skills. You will take the lead in developing and expanding the firm's professional services while actively pursuing new business opportunities to drive growth. A genuine interest in the rural sector, coupled with a positive and practical approach, is essential for success in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional service to an established client base across Devon and Cornwall.
- Take a proactive approach to identify and pursue new business opportunities to expand the rural professional services department.
- Provide expert advice on a variety of subjects including valuations, rural planning, compulsory purchase and compensation, countryside stewardship, the Basic Payment Scheme, ELMS, landlord/tenant issues, rural property management, and renewables.
- Support the growth of the Residential, Farm, and Land Agency department.
- Secure new instructions and contribute to the firm's business development efforts.
- Maintain a professional, friendly, and approachable image, ensuring outstanding customer care that leads to further recommendations and business.
- Be an active, collaborative member of the team, contributing to the overall success of the department.
- Use the firm's IT systems and communication tools effectively.
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required.
What You'll Need:
To be considered for this role, you will need:
- MRICS/FRICS and/or CAAV qualifications, with relevant experience in rural surveying.
- A passion for the rural sector and a practical, positive attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to foster and maintain client relationships.
- The ability to manage your time effectively and prioritise a varied workload.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- A proactive approach to your work, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A cheery disposition and a client-focused mindset.
