The Role: As a Chartered Rural Surveyor, you will primarily manage the Devon County Farms Estate, a progressive 9,500-acre estate with 65 residential equipped farms leased to new, entrepreneurial farmers. Your role will be crucial in driving economic, social, and environmental advancements on the estate while supporting and nurturing new entrants into the farming industry.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the evolving Devon County Farms Estate
- Conducting agricultural planning appraisals for local planning authorities
- Supporting the development and growth of the Rural Surveying department by securing new clients in both the public and private sectors
Candidate Profile: The ideal candidate is a motivated and inspirational Rural Surveyor with significant experience in rural estate management. Excellent communication skills and the ability to foster strong relationships with clients and tenants are essential.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Member of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (CAAV)
- Professional Chartered Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS or FRICS)
- Ideally a RICS Registered Valuer
- Post-qualification experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, including the Agricultural Holdings Act 1986, Agricultural Tenancies Act 1995, and Landlord and Tenant Act 1954
- A degree or equivalent in a rural estate management-related subject, or relevant commercial experience
