Location: London & Surrey Region
Working Pattern: Hybrid (40-60% on-site)

The Opportunity

We are working with a leading land and heritage organisation seeking a talented Rural Practice Chartered Surveyor to join their Estate Management team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated surveyor who enjoys variety, autonomy and the chance to make meaningful impact across a diverse rural and built portfolio.

You will join a supportive and collaborative professional team comprising estate managers, building surveyors, lettings professionals and other specialists-all working together to deliver exceptional stewardship of land, property and environmental assets.

This role suits someone who thrives in a purpose‑driven environment, enjoys problem‑solving and is passionate about sustainable land management and conservation.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will provide a broad range of rural surveying services, including:

  • Managing agricultural tenancies, agri‑environment schemes, woodland interests and wider rural assets
  • Supporting residential and commercial lettings, landlord/tenant matters and property management activities
  • Undertaking valuations, rent reviews, negotiations and dispute resolution
  • Advising on access, boundaries, easements, covenants and general land‑related issues
  • Contributing to acquisitions and disposals, including due diligence and reporting
  • Working with managers and stakeholders to deliver effective land, property and asset management
  • Building strong relationships with tenants, external partners, regulatory bodies and internal teams
  • Applying professional judgement to deliver solutions aligned with organisational goals, policies and environmental commitments

Candidate Profile

We are looking for a professional who can bring technical expertise, confidence and a collaborative approach. You will ideally offer:

  • Full Membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS)
  • Strong knowledge of rural land use, agriculture, land management, environmental and sustainability matters
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills
  • Ability to analyse land and property issues and provide practical, workable solutions
  • Experience with tenancies, legal agreements, asset management and professional surveying tasks
  • Strong stakeholder management and the ability to build productive working relationships
  • A proactive, innovative and client‑focused mindset
  • A genuine affinity for conservation, heritage and responsible land stewardship

Post‑qualification experience (typically up to 3 years) in the rural sector is beneficial, alongside an understanding of project management and budgets.

What's on Offer

  • A competitive salary with generous benefits
  • Hybrid working with flexibility across home, office and site‑based work
  • Professional development and support from experienced land and property specialists
  • The chance to influence and help shape sustainable land and property management across a leading heritage organisation
  • An inclusive, values‑driven workplace that champions collaboration, diversity and long‑term thinking
