About the company
MDL is the UK's leading Marina Operator. Its property business, MDL Estates, manages a multi asset class portfolio with around 500 commercial tenants across 19 locations located in South Coast, South West, the Thames and East Coast.
MDL employ's 150 staff and their HQ is based at Ocean Village, Southampton.
About the team
The wider MDL team includes experienced and professionally qualified specialists in all facets of marina development and marina operations. During the course of 45 years' operating in the marina sector the team have developed a complete in-house management and development resource that is not only self-sufficient but broad in its experience and knowledge. The MDL Property department encompasses two functions an Estate Management team responsible for management of the property lettings portfolio and a Technical Services Team which manages the Property and Marina infrastructure assets.
Working within the technical Services Team and responsible for the entire Property estate (not the marina "wet" assets) and having a holistic view for improving property condition, reducing costs, delivering property investment and project management.
Working closely with the Property Director and Director of Technical Services and have line management responsibility for one Facilities Manager.
A mix of office based work at the Company's headquarters in ocean Village and site based work at the marinas (all the marinas have office space) or occasional working from home.
Building Surveyor, or Project Manager working for a private practice, or client-side organisation with minimum 5+ years' experience. It will be an advantage to be a professional member of MRICS or MCIOB, but this is not essential.
Ideally living along the South Coast, or the South West within 1-hour from one of the marinas.
The package and benefits
Competitive salary depending on experience, plus car allowance of c£6,000, 23 days annual leave (increasing with service), pension, life assurance, employee assistance plan and 10% discretionary bonus.
