Rural Director - Essex
The Role:
We are working with a prestigious client seeking an experienced and dynamic Rural Director to lead strategic relationships for a high-profile client base, including private estates and corporate clients. As the Rural Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a talented team, driving income growth, and fostering career development. Your role will also include identifying opportunities for cross-selling services across various business teams throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as the principal agent for a select group of high-value estate management clients, representing some of the most prestigious estates in the region.
- Lead estate and farming business reviews, ensuring clients receive expert guidance on operational improvements.
- Manage and oversee diversification projects, working closely with clients to explore new opportunities.
- Assist clients with promoting strategic land for development or sale.
- Provide secured lending and other professional valuations to clients as required.
- Lead and mentor a high-performing team, providing career development and fostering a culture of success.
- Maintain and grow a strong client base, managing relationships with both private estates and corporate clients.

- Entrepreneurial and dynamic, able to apply professional judgment to achieve results.
- Experienced MRICS qualified rural surveyor with a diverse range of project experience.
- Ability to build strong relationships with existing clients and identify new business opportunities.
- Calm under pressure, with excellent time management and the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Meticulous attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, team members, and colleagues.
- Confident in client-facing situations and able to represent the business with professionalism.
- Flexible approach to work and hours, understanding the need for discretion and confidentiality.
- Strong networking and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and secure new opportunities.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Educated to degree level.
- MRICS qualified rural surveyor.
- Significant experience in rural asset and estate management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Proven experience of working to deadlines and managing a team.
