The Opportunity

I'm currently working with a fast-growing, independent surveying firm that is making a real impact in the residential property sector. Due to continued expansion across the Midlands and North, they are looking to appoint a Graduate Valuation Surveyor in the Sheffield / Derby area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is keen to build a long-term career in valuation and work towards their RICS qualification in a supportive, modern environment.

The Role

You'll be joining a well-established yet progressive business, supporting the delivery of residential valuations for both lending and private clients. From day one, you'll gain practical experience, combining property inspections across your local patch with report writing and market analysis.

You'll work closely with experienced surveyors who will provide hands-on guidance and structured APC support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting with residential valuations in line with RICS Red Book standards
  • Carrying out property inspections across Sheffield, Derby and surrounding areas
  • Researching local market data and comparable evidence
  • Producing clear and accurate valuation reports
  • Supporting senior surveyors on a variety of instructions
  • Building relationships with clients and introducers

What My Client Is Looking For

  • Degree in Real Estate, Property, or a RICS-accredited course
  • Strong interest in commercial valuation
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Highly organised with strong attention to detail
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel locally
  • Ambition to achieve MRICS/AssocRICS

What's on Offer

  • Structured APC training with dedicated mentorship
  • Competitive starting salary with regular reviews
  • Flexible working (field-based with home reporting)
  • Strong pipeline of work providing excellent exposure
  • Clear progression within a growing, entrepreneurial firm
  • Supportive and collaborative culture

Why This Role?

This is a standout opportunity to join a business that offers both scale and support. You'll gain responsibility early on, broaden your experience quickly, and be part of a team that genuinely invests in your development.
