Beach Baker is recruiting for a soft services focused Facilities Manager to join a leading commercial managing agent at a prestigious 500,000 sq. ft. building in Canary Wharf.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Facilities Manager will oversee all soft services within the building including security, mail room, cleaning and reception, with around 40 contractors in these teams overall. They will be responsible for ensuring health & safety compliance and be the primary contact for the high-profile corporate tenants. The FM will assist the General Manager in the setting and management of a circa £8 million service charge budget, and act as a mentor to the Facilities Coordinator and Team Administrator.
A large occupier fit out project is due to commence in 2019, and the FM will be responsible for ensuring the compliance of contractors and to minimise disruption to the building operations. They will also be involved in organising regular markets and events within the shared space of the building.
The ideal candidate for this role will be an experienced client-facing Facilities Manager with experience in managing large soft service contracts in a similar trophy asset environment with corporate tenants. They should have experience in managing service charge budgets and compliance. BIFM membership and IOSH or NEBOSH certification is preferred. Previous experience in marketing and events management is desirable.
