Beach Baker are delighted to be working with Royal Holloway University to help them secure a newly created role, The Director of Business and IT Projects.

The IT department plays a central role in the colleges ongoing pursuit of operational improvements and will play an important role in the Colleges Digital Futures strategy. The college is seeking an individual to help them establish a centre of excellence for the management of all business and IT Projects.

Royal Holloway are looking for a candidate who has the desire and ambition to take the department to the next level, who will lead and develop a centre of excellence, bringing together elements already established, seeking ways to improve and develop the department and to create a structure, governance, personnel, methods and systems to operate effectively.

Central to success in this role will be the ability to act as a figurehead and exhibit presence and gravitas in both leading the function and interfacing with the senior leadership in the wider college.

Project governance is critical; therefore, this role requires someone who understands operational excellence, with a key focus on project delivery and maintaining high standards of project oversight and reporting.

Experience of managing and delivering a portfolio of projects through a team of project managers, supporting PMO and strategic 3rd party suppliers, ensuring compliance and service standards are met.

You will be used to motivating staff and be comfortable at building relationships at all levels, stakeholder management skills are crucial to this role, the ability to build credibility and deliver difficult messages and manage conflict is important.
