Job Description

A fantastic clientside opportunity has arisen with a luxury bespoke housebuilder in Surrey. This firm have been creating beautiful homes across the South East for the last 30 years and are looking to recruit a Planning Manager who has experience working with London Boroughs (particularly around the southern M25 area) as they expand into higher density developments.

You will be MRTPI qualified with private sector experience (housebuilder or consultancy) in a planning focussed role based in the Surrey area. We are looking for someone around the Senior/Principal Planner level who has strong residential planning experience including high density developments, financial viability assessments and working with registered housing providers. You will be able to demonstrate excellent project management skills with an all-round understanding of development management, local/regional policy as well as the Five Year Land supply position of the key local planning authorities and the financial implications of things like affordable housing, S106 implications and CIL.

You will be leading on obtaining planning permission for a portfolio of residential sites and the management of the schemes through the planning process. This will include the appointment of external consultants, pre-app meetings, submission of applications, application negotiations, appeals and discharge of conditions once consent is achieved. This is a very rewarding opportunity to work for a reputable brand offering a wide and varied role. There is also the opportunity to develop skills in the land acquisition process if that is of interest.

Candidates must hold a full UK driving license and own/have access to a car. This is a full-time position.

For more information on this role and/or to apply please send your CV (which will be treated in the strictest of confidence and never sent to any client without fully briefing you and gaining your permission) to Ruth Hoggett (ruth@beachbaker.co.uk).
