Job Description

Do you have keen interest in traditional construction and conservation on historic buildings? Are you working for a large corporate and looking for something a bit different? Would you like to lead a building surveying service line?

  • Independent rural practice with 60 employees
  • Mainly working with listed buildings
  • Covering Somerset, Bristol, Gloucestershire & S.Wales
  • Ideally MRICS, but not essential

This company, established over 40 years' ago provide a specialist service for landowners, country house and rural property owners, farmers and their other professional advisors.

One of their existing building surveyors is reaching retirement, and the business is looking at succession planning for a motived individual to lead the department. The company have a traditional background, however the owners have a modern and forward thinking approach. For example, the individual can mould the role to suit their experience or any areas they want to specialise.

The practice have an excellent reputation in the local area, and the majority of the workload is from repeat business, including projects from maintenance, repair, alteration, refurbishment and conversion, through to new build/development schemes and commercial professional work.

They have a number of offices in the region, so there is flexibility to be based in Bristol, South Gloucestershire or South Wales (out of town). Their offices are very unique, including a converted horse stables with it's own orchard!

The ideal candidate will be MRICS, although non-chartered with good experience will be considered. The hiring manager is happy to consider candidates a different levels, therefore the salary is negotiable depending on the individual.
