Assistant Land Agent

East Anglia | Hybrid & Field-Based Role

Our client is a well-established and growing rural consultancy seeking an ambitious Assistant Land Agent to join their professional team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career within rural property, estate management and agricultural consultancy, working across a diverse portfolio of farmers, landowners, estates and rural businesses

The Role

You will be involved in a broad spectrum of rural professional services, including:

Estate & Farm Management

  • Managing farms and estates on behalf of clients.
  • Advising on rural property matters, landlord and tenant issues, and estate diversification.
  • Supporting the management of environmental schemes within farming businesses.
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships.

Rural Professional Work

  • Drafting Farm Business Tenancies, Contract Farming Agreements and licences.
  • Assisting with rent reviews and statutory notices.
  • Maintaining farm business records and schedules

Environmental Schemes & Grants

  • Preparing and submitting Countryside Stewardship, SFI, EWCO and capital grant applications.
  • Managing annual claims and scheme compliance requirements

Utilities & Compensation

  • Acting on behalf of landowners in relation to utility and infrastructure projects.
  • Preparing compensation and disturbance claims.
  • Liaising with contractors and project stakeholders

Property Management

  • Assisting with the management of residential and commercial property portfolios.
  • Coordinating repairs and maintenance programmes.
  • Carrying out inspections, rent reviews and contractor management.

Planning, Mapping & Diversification

  • Supporting planning applications and rural development projects.
  • Producing mapping and Land Registry compliant plans.
  • Assisting clients with diversification opportunities and viability assessments.
  • Supporting boundary dispute work and mediation activities

About You

Applicants should ideally possess:

  • MRICS qualification or be working towards chartered status.
  • Strong knowledge of rural property and agricultural businesses.
  • Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
  • A proactive and organised approach with strong attention to detail.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel across East Anglia with occasional overnight stays as required.
