SPECIALIST property recruitment firm Beach Baker has opened an office in Yorkshire as it looks to capitalise on signs of recovery in the sector.

The recruiter, which has existing operations in Bristol and London, has opened a premises in Leeds.

Senior consultant Simon Norris has been joined by former CBRE and Brackenridge Hanson Tate surveyor Jonny Phillips to run the office.

Mr Norris said: “Given the size and strength of the Yorkshire property market Leeds presents an exciting opportunity for the company, especially given the majority of our competition is located across the Pennines.”

Beach Baker recruits exclusively in the commercial and residential property market recruiting general practice surveyors, rural surveyors, building surveyors, project managers, planners and quantity surveyors.

Mr Phillips added: “As we all know there have been difficult times in many industries, with the property industry being no exception, however, I have been pleasantly surprised by the number of roles we have been asked to work on and feel this is a great sign we are starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

"In my experience people in Yorkshire like to deal with local firms and hopefully we will become the first port of call for Yorkshire firms looking for high calibre employees.”

Beach Baker plans to make the Leeds office the company's base for work across the north of England.
