RICS Matrics Olympic Charity Night - Sponsored by Beach Baker

With the London Olympics just around the corner, this was a great opportunity for around 70 local surveyors to get in to the spirit of things by attending the RICS matrics charity rowing event held at the Picture & Piano in Brindley Place. The rain poured all night, but this did not dampen anyone’s spirits as all money raised was in aid of the West Midlands Disability Swimming Team, a fantastic cause.

The evening started with drinks and socialising, but the atmosphere soon changed once the rowing began with teams being represented by Lambert Smith Hampton, Davis Langdon, EC Harris, GVA, Rider Levett Bucknall and Jones Lang La Salle, with each team member required to row 500 metres – not as easy as it sounds!!

The night was not just about rowing as £152 was also raised by a raffle, which included some fantastic prizes including football tickets, classic games such as table top football and ‘Guess Who’, and my personal favourite, guessing how many sweets were in the sweets jar.

It was highly successful evening and I’m extremely pleased Beach Baker had the opportunity to sponsor the event, and we look forward to supporting future RICS matrics events.
