Job Description

Beach Baker is delighted to be working in partnership with Cheltenham Borough Council to recruit a Commercial Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager. This is an opportunity to join a recently established and forward thinking Major Developments and Regeneration Team, to support their plans for local economic growth.

THE POSITION
The Commercial Quantity Surveyor/Project Manager is a newly created position and will play a key part in the department to deliver a range of capital projects in the Council's ownership and the exciting Golden Valley Development (GDV).

You will have the passion to drive projects forward to ensure they are completed on time, within budget and to high quality and health and safety standards. You will manage complex construction projects from inception through to the planning and construction phase, handover and thereafter ensuring a smooth transition to occupation and use.

You will engage with a range of stakeholders including contractors, consultants, occupiers, land owners, development partners, councillors and other government bodies.

THE CANDIDATE
You will have minimum 5+ years' experience in the construction sector working as a quantity surveyor, managing complex property projects. Possess or working towards a relevant professional membership, such as RICS, CIOB, APM (or equivalent). The individual's character and teamwork ethic is most important. Candidates looking to work on a part-time or reduced hours basis will also be considered.
