Job Description

A great opportunity has arisen for an Associate/Associate Director level Town Planner to join an expanding consultancy in Bedfordshire. This firm have an excellent reputation in the market and you will be joining an established team of friendly and supportive professionals.

We are looking for candidates with at least five years' experience ideally gained in a consultancy environment, but local authority experience will also be considered if gained locally. You will hold a master's degree in a Town Planning and be MRTPI qualified. This role offers the chance to work on a broad spectrum of projects including residential, mixed-use and commercial schemes. Your duties will include (but are not limited to); preparing and submitting planning applications, writing planning statements, local plan representation and appeal work, preparing site appraisals and attending site visits as well as mentoring junior members of staff. You should have excellent report writing skills and be confident in client facing situations. You should be very comfortable in managing medium to large scale projects on a regular basis and confidently dealing with a wide range of professionals and client types. You should be driven, conscientious and enjoy networking as well as having strong communication and presentation skills. At this level you should also be used to having business development as part of your role and enjoy this side. You should be able to demonstrate that you have a strong contact base in the area.
