A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a town planner to join a well-established consultancy in the heart of the beautiful county of Kent at either Assistant Planner or Planner level.
This firm have a strong reputation across the South of England with planning teams across the region. They have a very established client base including private and public sector organisations. The project work is varied but has a lean towards residential and mixed-use schemes and would provide the opportunity to get involved with the pre-application stage, public consultation, preparing and submitting applications, site promotion works as well as good client exposure which will give you excellent commercial experience. This firm are very progressive and there is a clear career track of working your way up to Senior Planner and beyond. They encourage client contact and will give you the opportunity to manage your own workload with as much support as you need.
This role would suit an MRTPI planner or a junior planner working towards their MRTPI. We are ideally looking for a minimum of 6-12 months' experience for the Assistant Planner post but could consider a really bright masters graduate straight out of uni. We require at least 18 months' experience for the Planner post. Experience can be gained from either the public or private sector but candidates will ideally have dealt with some application work. There is really good progression with this role and a really supportive office to help you with your MRTPI submission (should you be at that stage) and to give you a good range of experience to progress further through your career.
You should have strong report writing and communication skills, be confident in client facing situations and work well to tight deadlines. Candidates will be rewarded with a competitive remuneration package and excellent progression.
